about him & her

I'm a mom and wife surrounded by all boys and another ?? on the way. Motherhood is my number one priority and love. I also love my gig as a photographer; and doing little things like crafting or blogging our latest adventures.

Connie is a winner of Top 25 Fashion & Beauty Moms - 2012

How did your style change (if at all) after becoming a mom?

I've definitely realized some things I just can't wear around the house, they aren't comfortable or ideal to wear while taking care of small kids. But I wouldn't say my style has changed; because I still get dressed up and wear things I love- it just has to fit the occasion. I'm definitely wearing something different at a girls night than I wear to the park. And I'm okay with it, because it's still "my style" and something I enjoy wearing.

What's your favorite stylish and practical item?

I seem to veer towards fun tops. Anything not your average t-shirt I love. I think the reason for this is because I don't always wear jewelry since I have a toddler who yanks them off of me. So it's practical in that sense... and I feel stylish in them too.

What's a quick thing moms can do to take their style up a notch?

I think my style is improved when I get out and do things without my kids on occasion. Going on a date night with my husband or spending a little time with friends now and then gives me a reason to doll myself up beyond what I would when I'm at home with the kids. So because of that, I'm still on the look out for the latest trends and such.

Where do you most enjoy shopping online for your family, and why?

Connie B

I really love shopping at Target online because I know that once it gets to my house, if I'm unsatisfied with it, I can take it directly back to the store and I don't have to worry about shipping it back at all. That REALLY is a big one for me! Plus, Target just has so much for everyone that I can get all my shopping done, pretty much in one place.

Can you suggest a fun birthday party game or creative activity for 6-8 year-olds?

Connie B

When I was a kid one of my favorite games was the candy bar game where you sit in a cirlcle and get to choose a candy bar that was in a pile in the center of the circle. You put it in a paper lunch bag and hoped to keep it. But the game was a lot like a white elephant gift exchange where you could steal someone else's candy bar (you just had to remember what they had!) and you went around the circle a couple more times trying to get what you wanted. Candy is like a million dollars to 6 year olds- they love it!
