What's a fun way to repurpose household items into toys or crafts?

My son loves coloring or painting on unique canvases. We save anything with blank space - especially cardboard or packing paper to be colored on. He also loves turning things into bugs. An old egg carton can become a caterpillar or the lid of an old jar can become a ladybug.

Do you know any great children's books that teach kids about being eco-friendly?

We love the Lorax.

Loosely wrap a piece of duct tape around their wrist sticky side out. They can put interesting things they find on a nature walkd- flowers, sticks, leaves to it.
