How did your decorating style change when you became a mom?

Practicality and function took a more prominent role. Instead of just thinking about what is cool and eye-catching, you start thinking about how a room will work with kids jumping around in it.
Our styles also became a little more minimal. With kids things can clutter up very quickly. There’s something really refreshing about simplicity and open spaces. It also allows you to think more specifically about each piece.

What's your advice on creating a beautiful family space that works for both kids and adults?

Bright colors are fun and add a vibrant playful edge to any space. We also love to mix all types of artwork to create an inviting atmosphere. Children’s artwork, photographs, paintings, and prints all make up a fun and eclectic balance to any room.

How would you decorate a child's room on a budget?

Do as much of it on my own as possible! Pinterest has become one of our favorite places to search for decorating ideas. It’s a great way to get ideas on how to re-use and upcycle old objects.
