Goodies & Besties

Chronicling life's loves.
Another description which comes from a six year old fan:
"It's called Goodies and Besties, which aren't even real words. You'll see more pictures of people than food and drinks. But you'll also see food...

What is your favorite place to find clothes for children?

I love shopping the high end resale shops for some unique items! If you have time to spare, it's worth the digging for that diamond in the rough. I also check Zulily often to see what they are offering -they carry some fun lines and toys/gifts too. I always shop Land's End end of the season sale to stock up on seasonal items for the next year. You can get some fabulous deals on swimwear at the end of the summer! And then I also shop Zara (best kids department), Crewcuts, and "Baby Gap Made with Love" as my kids always call it.

What tips would you give to a mom who is trying to remain stylish while raising a family?

I think it's important to keep the style you had going before kids. Your signature look doesn't need to change just because your are raising a family. It just means that you have less time to figure it out. Have a few key outfits ready for different occasions. Saving time, by having the "moms night out" digs ready to go, does wonders for keeping sane. Take photos of ensembles you adore and keep them handy. Shop your closet often. Hey, shop your son's closet (his mini tie could make a great headband) and your husband's sweater may look great with leggings and boots.

Always keep an eye out for that perfect versatile dress. I found a sweatshirt sleeveless grey dress at Madewell and it works with everything, for every occasion, and every season. Price per wear now is hovering around zero!

Lastly, always make a little time for yourself because if you feel good, then you'll look good.

What's one beauty product you would recommend to all moms?

Egyptian Magic! It has a trillion uses for mom and kids. I slather it on skinned knees, under my eyes, on dry skin, in my hair, and more....
