Of all the DIY projects you've done, which was your favorite?

My favorite is actually one I did recently-my back patio makeover. My husband and I built our own outdoor dining table based off styles we liked at Pottery Barn, then we bought vintage chairs and reupholstered and painted them. We tried to be as frugal as possible and ended up with a very cool eclectic and budget-friendly space for our family to enjoy!

What's your advice for moms who want to decorate their home on a budget?

Don't be afraid to try to make things yourself. I'm no seamstress but I can sew my own pillows-I've made them from shower curtains, regular curtain panels, inexpensive fabric-anything I can find with a print I like! Pillows are a great way to update your decor.

Also, step outside of your comfort zone and pick up some power tools and elbow grease-it's amazing how you can add to your home by building your own furniture or refinishing inexpensive thrifted items!

Where do you find inspiration for keeping your home stylish?

I of course love Pinterest for inspiration but I also love reading catalogs, magazines and blogs for inspiration. There are so many ideas out there sometimes I have to step back and realize I can't do them all!
