Two moms with a shared vision: to share design ideas for stylish, chic, green, happy kids & moms!

Monica Dreger and Elena Tsoka is a winner of Top 25 Kids' Style

What inspired you to start blogging?

Elena is an architect/interior designer and a restless, energetic professional. She had so many ideas and tips that she wanted to share with everyone so she started Hoolaboola - in Greek and in English.

Monica, on the other hand, loves reading/talking/writing about style. She started in the fashion world "working" as a stylist for all her college friends in exchange for homework help. While working in the corporate world she would freelance write every chance she got and has a lifestyle/parenting blog.

At 2:00am while drinking in a bar, Elena and Monica realized they both loved the same design styles and had the same passion for sharing what they found...thus they merged forces!

How do you keep up with the latest kids' fashions and being a mom?

With difficulty! We each have our favorite designers and bloggers and try to catch up on our reading every chance we get. Since we both work and then try to be present when the kids come home from school, our blogging hours are usually restricted to the late hours of the night.

What are three things parents should think about when styling their kids?

1. First and foremost, they are just kids and not mini-adults! Practicality and comfort are major components for success.
2. Obeying the kids' own style and preferences -- if their little girl is going through a "no dress" phase, just respect it and find one of the 1000's of adorable pants that are out there.
3. Let go of the matchy-matchy sets that you find at department stores. Never, never chose an outfit that is all sold on one hanger. Use your and your child's imagination.
