What's the best part of raising a family in the South?

I love the slower pace of the South. People take the time to ask "How are you?" and wait for an answer. People don't think anything of spending all day on the soccer field or football field if their kids' have games with hours in between them. I grew up in the Northeast and everyone worked longer hours and were always in a hurry. It's nice here.

What's the biggest misconception about living in the South?

I had major culture shock moving for the Northeast to the Southeast. It is different - not worse or better. Just different. I think that's a misconception both areas of have about each other: one side must do it better. I still think of the Northeast as my home because I grew up there, but the South is my kids home so I love it equally. I see what they both have to offer and feel lucky to feel at home in each area.

What do your kids love most about living in the South?

My kids don't know anywhere else so they just love living here because it's home.

What's one of the worst messes your child has made? Please share a link to a photo if you have one.

My oldest got in my spice rack and poured allspice everywhere. But before I got mad, I found my camera and was able to laugh and enjoy how good we smelled and got to be the mom I wanted to be instead.
