What's the best part of raising a family in Canada?

There's really several things, but I would have to narrow it down to Safety & the great outdoors. When traveling around the world, I sometimes find myself on high-alert for dangers that might be lurking... but I've never felt that way in my city and anywhere else that I've visited in Canada. I also love that my family and I can spend so much time outdoors both in the city and in the country. Canada has so much to offer families year round. I can't imagine living anywhere else.

What's the biggest misconception people have about raising a family in Canada?

I think that people may feel that we don't have a good work-life balance or that we don't get great health care since it's subsidized by the government. However, I feel that companies in Canada are very much in tuned with the needs of Canadian families and offer many choices for a work-life balance, including extended holidays if needed. I also love that I can go and see a Doctor and not worry about how much it will cost me when my kids are sick. No problem is too small and as a parent, that removes any worries that I have.

What do your kids love most about living in Canada?

My oldest is only 3 years old, but I think he loves hockey the most! That and that he can walk everywhere in our neighborhood. We walk to go grocery shopping and to the park, all are just a few minutes from our house. It's a great way to get some exercise.
