What's one tip you'd give to moms struggling to make time for physical activity?

My biggest piece of advice is to find something you LOVE to do. Don’t settle for running if you hate it. Don’t go to spin if it makes you unhappy. Try ALL kinds of activities and don’t stop trying until you find something you love. If you love it, you'll make time for it.

What's your best advice for moms trying to get healthy?

Take everyone one day at a time. In fact, take it minute by minute. Life is all about ups and downs and a healthy lifestyle is really no different. Don't take one little slip up as your opportunity/permission to ruin the rest of your day. Know that sometimes you'll eat more than you should, or sometimes you'll skip a workout you had planned. The biggest thing is to get over those things RIGHT AWAY and not dwell on it. Instead, allow it to motivate you to make a better choice next time.

What motivates you to stay active while raising a family?

My motivation is easy. My children! If I look at their little faces, I am immediately reminded of the impact I am able to have on their lives. My husband and I are their biggest role models. I know that they learn by example and not "do as I say and not as I do". I just try to lead a life (both in fitness and otherwise) that I want them to lead one day. I hope that one day my children will say they lead a healthy lifestyle thanks to their mom! That's the greatest motivator ever!
