Mumabytes: All Things Motherhood. I'm Katie, and with a husband overseas and a tornado for a daughter, I blog for sanity. I write about anything and everything related to the lives of mothers neck deep in the haze of child rearing.

What's the best part of raising a family in Australia?

Australia has a little bit of everything. My husband and I have lived in many different countries and Australia is by far the best for ease and quality of living. We have great schools, efficient systems (political people might disagree, but if you've lived in the third world, Australia is heaven!) and a relaxed culture. I feel much safer raising my family here in Australia than anywhere else.

In what ways is Australia unique from other places you've lived or traveled?

Australia is unique in so many ways. I love that it is just so big that it encompasses everything from desert, to rain forests, to outback to the most stunning beaches you've ever seen. We're an outdoorsy country, we have koalas and Vegemite, and we have a slightly hilarious English accent!

What do your kids love most about living in Australia?

We spent my daughter's first years in Brazil. It was certainly an experience, but she much prefers living in Australia - more freedom, it is safer, great food, fabulous public facilities and way better fashion. We are very fortunate to call Australia home!
