Overly Opinionated Mommy

A blog about my opinions on parenting topics and current events associated with parenting. It's also about the adventures I have as a stay-at-home mom raising my 3-year-old son.

In what ways is Northern California unique from other places you've lived or traveled?

Before moving down to Northern California I lived in Seattle, WA. I currently reside in Sonoma. It's a huge difference. I would say that Northern California is unique from where I've previous lived because there's a lot of wide open land here and farms and vineyards. I love living in an area of NorCal where I feel like my child has endless areas to explore and roam. We're not in the middle of a big city. The atmosphere is much more calm here.

What outdoor activity do you enjoy doing most with your kids?

I love going on walks with my son and taking him swimming. We go on a walk along a bike path here that has a little creek running along side it. There are usually many ducks in the creek and my son loves to stop and watch them and sometimes we have bread that we can feed to them.

What's a great Northern California destination for a family vacation?

I would say a great Northern California destination for a family vacation would be Monterey. We love going to the aquarium there. I would also say Fort Bragg. It's a great little coastal town with some great beaches and shops to check out. There is also Six Flags Marine World in Vallejo. We have been there a few times, we've only taken our son once. It's fun because there are rides, games, and animals.
