So I Went Undercover

As a mother of 6, my life is rarely glamorous or glorious. But it sure gets strange.

What's the funniest thing your child has ever done or said?

Oh my. I am not sure. The one that strikes me right now was when I was driving down the street with my oldest son (at the time he was 3) and we drove past an over-weight elderly man who wasn't wearing a shirt. After witnessing the hair chest and belly on display my son observed, "Mom, some people just look better with their shirts on." Well played, son.

What always makes you laugh?

I laugh until I cry all the time. If I need a quick pick-me-up, I log on to I just can't get enough of what technology does to our communication!

What's the funniest gift you've ever received?

I don't recall ever receiving a funny gift, but I did receive one that resulted in me feeling pathetic. This was almost a decade ago and I still feel sheepish. At a family Bingo game, I would up with an entire box of full-sized pink-iced Granny B's cookies. I have such a weakness for them. The box sat in my cupboard for about 20 minutes before I broke into it. I allowed myself one cookie a day for about a week. Then I began to feel guilty (probably because I hid the box from everyone else). On the eighth day, I decided I had to stop feeling guilty about eating a cookie every day, so I ate the last five cookies in one sitting. I reasoned that I had to eat them all before I ended up eating them all. Don't ask. I still can't explain it. But it made sense while I was stuffing my face.
