What's your favorite kid-friendly app?

I love the My PlayHome app by Shimon Young. On the most basic level, it is a virtual dollhouse. It was one of the first apps my three year old started playing. It occupies them, gets their imagination going, and provides a lot of giggles along the way. Educationally-speaking, my favorite would be anything by Spinlight Studio, AlphaTots and TallyTots are responsible for helping my children learn their alphabet and numbers.

What tips would you give a mom who wants to become more tech savvy?

Read, read, read. Follow some of the Top 25 Tech Moms on Circle of Moms, each one offers their own twist on technology. It may be hard, but try to stay one step ahead of technology with your children. They start so young!

What's the most innovative gadget for children you've seen?

I've been contacted over the years about different technology products coming onto the market. I'm excited on what the future has in store, but the one thing that has caught my attention is how companies are starting to combine educational apps with real world tools. I love the iPad and iPhone, but bringing playtime outside of the 'box' again would be nice. Seeing how companies combine the two looks to be interesting.

What was your favorite book as a teen?

Tina Zucker

As a teen, I read books that probably weren't good for kids to read. :-) But, I remember in my early teens I enjoyed the Sweet Valley High series, Forever by Judy Blume and the Xanth series by Piers Anthony.
