Tots and Plans

What babies, kids and parents eat, create and play, and where they shop and travel from Northern CA as their base. It's what the real kids are doing with a creative twist!

In what ways is Northern California unique from other places you've lived or traveled?

The enthusiasm is so great and catching here! The excitement people can feel for a particular food, shop or beach is pretty awesome to see. And people loving sharing those special places only "they" know about!

What outdoor activity do you enjoy doing most with your kids?

Honestly, we love to play in the backyard, and the weather here allows for a lot of that! It's never the same playtime twice. The kids love to climb the lemon tree, sneak into their hideout behind a big jade plant and check on (meaning pick!) the tomatoes. But we love hiking together too, looking at the plants, listening for birds and eating snacks of course!

What's a great Northern California destination for a family vacation?

Half Moon Bay is a great and easy one. We love the Beach House Inn. You get two rooms in one, with a kitchen, and yummy breakfast and snack time (happy hour). The downtown area is so cute. The lighthouse is a fun adventure. And there are farms and pumpkins galore in the fall. A fun treat is a snack at the Ritz too!

Does your family have a special tradition for Easter or Passover? Please share a link to a picture along with your response.

We hide mini muffins to search for in our home. This is in keeping with the tradition of searching for and then disposing of crumbs in the house before Passover. This is a fun and tasty twist in this tradition. And it gets the point across well too!
