How can I break my twins from being swaddled to sleep?

My twins are almost 8 months & will not sleep any way but swaddled tight & I know they should be able to move around at night. Ive tried letting them fuss themselves to sleep, rocking them, everything I can think of but nothing works. If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated :-)

I swaddled mine until they were about 16 months. They would get out of the swaddle blanket by the morning, but they wouldn't fall asleep without it. It was a huge comfort that was easy enough.
Sorry I am not much help with advise as to how to stop. Mine were just ready to stop.

My twins started wriggling out of their swaddling on their own and so that's when we quit doing it. I think being premies, it's important to have the deep touch stimulation that comes from the swaddling. Assuming you aren't doing it too tightly, this won't hurt their circulation, but will actually give them a greater sense of security and sensory stability as they grow.

No their pediatrician says its fine but I just worry about their circulation & I really don't want to swaddle 2 1 yr olds lol. Yes they were a month early. Thanks I'll try that :-)

Have you been advised by a pediatrician to stop swaddling? Were they premature?

My twins hated being swaddled but my neighbors made their own Houdini swaddler for their singleton until she wriggled out of it enough times at night that they decided she didn't need it anymore. I don't think there's anything wrong with swaddling, especially if they like it.

If you don't want to swaddle any more, you might try footie jammies under a sleep sack or some other form of multiple layers that keeps them warmed and wrapped snug without being swaddled all the way.

Good luck!
