My 13 month old daughter has been breastfed since birth. She never took a bottle or a pacifier. She will drink juice or water from a cup with a straw or a sippy cup. I recently tried introducing cows milk and she absolutely hates it. She will let it get in her mouth but then she holds her mouth open and lets it fall out. I have also tried Silk and she won't take that either. I've tried flavoring the milk also and it doesn't work. Does anyone have any advice on how to get her to take milk? any advice would be appreciated.

I don't pump because I could never pump more than an ounce. But I will try warming the milk up. We did good the last few days. She only has been nursing when she is tired so about 3 times a day. So hopefully soon. Another mom told me to try ovaltine so I'm going to try that too.

Do you pump at all? I know smoe moms mix breast milk and whole milk and gradually increase the amount of whole milk to help baby get used to it. Have you tried warming the milk? That might help too.

Yes, I am still nursing but i'm really thinking about weaning. But she does eat cheese, and all the other things but what else can she drink. she isn't totally into water all the time and i don't like to give her juice all the time. That's why milk would would out great.

Are you still nursing? If you are then I wouldn't worry about milk. If not, then I still wouldn't stress too much. Does she eat other dairy products like yogurt, cheese, etc? She can get calcium from other sources like dark green veggies (broccoli and spinach). I love milk, but it's not *needed*. It's just an easy way to get calcium into kids. I also read that milk has lots of zinc so you would want to look into getting that from other foods as well.
