Hello all looking for anyone's advice. My 2.5 month old baby girl twists her head like the exorcist every time I lay her down. I get all the gas I can possibly get out but she keeps on twisting her neck. My DH and I have put a soft blanket of her to try and make her more comfortable but to no avail. Please help I would love for her to use her crib

Has this been happening since birth? Sometimes babies experience birth trauma; if their neck is twisted during labour and delivery it can be very painful. You might want to talk to your family physician or explore cranio-sacral therapy.

Hiya, how exactly do you mean?

My daugher is 11weeks and when she's lying down she will turn her head to the side which is good if she's a bit sick cuz then it doesn't choke her, and sometimes she will twist to the side and look up so she's so twisted up lol, but then thats usually because theres something going on behind her she wants to see, like her big brother or the tv.

Do you think she's trying to see behind her or is she twisted up differently?

lay her on her tummy. Babies develop head, neck, and upper body strength from the first day of birth. She wants to look around and she cannot move herself into position from her back. Also, she will sleep more soundly on her tummy and any gas or burps she may have will come out. She will be happier and so will you : ) I'm a mom of five.

Hi Jo-anne, no this has only started in the last 2 weeks. I have started laying her on her side when she starts to go to sleep then she relaxes and lays flat. She tends to gravitate toward her side for sleeping so I think it must be a comfort issue. I'm trained in cranial sacral but it didn't seem to help.

Hi sandy, no she is UPSET when she does this. She has already been fed and had a loooong burp session she's dry and on a softer blanket but it still happens. I wonder if she would rather sleep on her side even though it is a no no. And there is no tv in her room.
