My little one is 3 months old, strictly breastfed. This past week she went from pooping 3-4 times a day to only pooping once a day. When she does poop they are very watery (more so than normal) and explosive. Now she hasn't pooped in over a day. Is this normal? She is still eating normally. I am about to call the doctor, but wanted to see if any of you had any input.

My son would do that as well, sometimes he would poop a couple times a day, and then regularly go up to 10 days without pooping. Perfectly normal in breastfed only babies.

Its real normal hunny. Breast milk is not fatty like formula, hence why they have to feed more often. longest mine went without pooing was 13 days xxx dont worry, but just be ready when it does come lol

My eldest was the same way. At about 3-4 months he started pooping only about once a week. But when he did, the diapers were still watery and sometime explosive. You should only need to worry about it if the poop looks pebbly or your LO screams when trying to poop. Those are signs of constipation which is rare but not entirely unheard of in breastfed infants. My youngest has a problem with constipation and he was exclusively breastfed just like his brother was.

I had the same concern when my daughter turned 3 months. She actually went 4 DAYS without pooping!! The 4th day was explosive to say the least LOL. After researching and contacting the doctor, I've found this to be normal in BF babies around the 3rd month. Apparently breastmilk can be completed used (absorbed) by the body and therefore produce little to no waste (poop). I was told to call the doctor if she went 10 days without a poopie diaper as that could a sign of medical issue. I hope this helps and gives you some peace of mind :) I was so happy when she finally went I screamed "YAY, she pooped!!" So loud I woke my sleeping hubby and dog.

That does give me some peace of mind. I just called the doctor and left a message for one of the nurses, so we will see what they have to say, But thank you... good to know.
