9 weeks pregnant and breastfeeding....OOOWWWW

My boobs are soooo sore and it has been so painful breastfeeding my 14 month old son. And now under my right boob feels like it is really bruised and practically hurts to touch. I had mastitis when my son was 2 weeks old, and it's not like that because it's not red, hot and hard. My poor boobies are just so sore and feel abused, and DS isn't always gentle. Any advice on how to help the pain until the soreness lets up(hopefully)?

That feeling in my right boob finally went away, I massaged it some and that hurt but I think it helped. My son was 13 months old when I got pregnant. My period came back when he was 7 months old but it only came every 2 months, then I got it in October and November and we got pregnant in Nov. We had been trying since he was 6 months old. I just stayed relaxed about it, enjoyed the baby boy I have and I knew it would happen when it was supposed to!

I just got that feeling yesterday too. I think its a blocked duct. As much as it hurts can you rub the sore spot in the shower? Mine was caused from Wil not wanting his bedtime feed for last 3 nights so boobs didnt get emptied from 1pm till 7am the next morning. Not that this is your question...but how did you go getting preg while BF? We want to TTC #2 but im still BF and havnt had a cycle??

When I had mastitis it was more like a bruise and wasn't red. You may want to check into it. Hopefully you feel better soon :)

From what I have heard, the soreness does let up eventually. I agree with april on the warm showers and wash cloths... Also there is a book about Tandem nursing, Im sure it might have something in there about nursing while pregnant and after... Maybe some of the ways that can help with pain...
