:am wondering about what other moms did when they were transitioning to one nap or when you know your LO is ready? My LO has been resisting the second nap. So in turn i figured he was ready for one, because if he wont go down for his afternoon nap, he has a very long wakeful period. What do you think? Or what have you experienced with your LO's? Thanks for any info mommas.

my DD is transitioning now too.she's 13 months but started a a day after she turned 1.some days she'll still have 2 if really tired.I noticed if we go out at the shops or park in in the mornings it keeps her awake a bit longer so she can easily go for her nap at around 1-2pm.shes theething badly so most of the time she wakes up after an hour crying but if I breastfeed her a lil bit she'll go down for another hour.dont stress much, just watch if he's really tired ...I used to do the thing with"at their first signs put them down for a nap" but didnt really work for us. so now, when she's tired, she'll go through a bit of grumpiness than a very active period and than she becomes very quiet and not interested in playing much...thats the right time for us...and a lot easier...i

She goes to sleep around 9 pm and gets up around 9 am, and she was a year old when she transitioned to the one nap.

I forget how old my daughter was when she gave up the second nap but similar to Sara she had been napping at 11 and 3ish. Her nap fell somewhere in-between the two times so about 1. She's now 18 months old and her nap is getting later which causes her bedtime to be pushed back but I try to have her in bed between 8 and 9.

When my daughter started doing that I just pushed her first nap a little later, so she could transition to one nap. She used to nap around 1030 then again around 4, and now she naps once at 230. Maybe try something like that? and if they are awake and alert with only one nap then they are ready for the change, if they seem tired and cranky then still need two naps a day. Hope this helps:)
