i exclusively pump for my 13month old son. we found out on friday that he has pneumonia in both lungs so he is now on antibiotics. i am pretty positive that i have strep throat so i will be going in to the walk in clinic tomorrow (sunday). if i have strep, i will also be put on antibiotics. will he get thrush or does that only happen when babe is actually nursing???

thank you very much! i knew it sounded too good to be true when my mother in law said "oh no, he has to actually latch on to get it" hahahah. it would make sense that it would pass through my milk. my little mr. and i are both eating yogurt but if that doesn't seem to be enough we will get acidopholus.

thanks, again!

If you get thrush and pump I think you can still pass it to him. If you get put on antibiotics eat plain yogurt or take acidopholus to prevent getting thush. Always check with your doctor, pharmacist or LC before taking anything, but it was recommended to me by my doctor when I got mastitis. She didn't want me to get thrush on top of that. Hope you both feel better soon!
