Any tips on how to get pregnant without having to stop nursing?

My son is 2 weeks shy of his first birthday and my husband and I have been "discussing" having another baby. I'm just wondering if anyone knows of a way to stimulate ovulation without having to ween. I would prefer to do the child lead weening than to force my son to ween if/when we decide to have another child

Here's some fabulous info on getting pregnant while nursing. If your period has returned then your fertility has probably returned (sometimes it takes a few periods to start ovulating). I would recommend charting your basal body temperature and other signs of ovulation to figure out exactly when you ovulate. I use It teaches you how to chart and your can enter your info in there. It helps you determine when you ovulate. If your period has not returned you can try changing around your nursing patterns. The book "Adventures in Tandem Nursing" has tons of info on nursing during a pregnancy and beyond.

Well i guess it all depends on if your period has returned or not. If you do not have your period, it does make it a little more difficult, but not impossible, as quite a number of mothers fall pregnant while breastfeeding. My son is 16mo and is still currently nursing, and we are also trying for our second baby. My period is irregular and only had it a few times so I bought some ovulation tests to find out if/when I am ovulating.

have you gotten your period or are you on any form of birth control? If you have started solids or are not nursing as much as you used to, you should be able to get pregnant? I am nursing, I have an IUD and some months I still ovulate. So, if you are not on anything, you should still be ovulating? You can always check with your dr?
