Attempting relactation after 6 months?

I am attempting to relactate 6 months after drying up and am wondering if there's ANYONE out there who has successfully done this? She's 8 months old now and I quit breastfeeding at 2 months so the odds of getting her to nurse are next to zero. I will have to pump instead. I've purchased Fenugreek and Blessed Thistle to help, and plan to pump every 2 hours and am attempting as much skin to skin contact as possible. Just relacting in and of itself is a challenge, but I also need to mention my supply was never established. My sweet baby girl was in the NICU and I was not allowed to attempt breastfeeding. Even though she latched on once we got home, my supply just dwindled until there was nothing left, not even an ounce a day regardless of what I did. Then all of a sudden, 2 days ago my nipples began to tingle and I started to leak a few drops of milk so I decided to attempt relactating. My goal is 2 1/2 ounces per day, which is just enough to boost her respiratory system and help with her allergies. Anything more than that, should I be so lucky, is a bonus. Anyone else have success with this or going through this too?

No personal experience, but I have read plenty of success stories for both relactation and induced lactation in moms who had never nursed. Most moms end up getting a prescription for domperidone which is sometimes more effective but also safe to use along with those herbs. Some moms have even been able to get a full supply and exclusively breastfeed. It is a lot of work, but they all were so happy they did it. One mom got her baby of several months who never nursed to nurse from the breast after patiently trying often once she had some milk. Good luck!

Wow, I didn't even know that was possible! If it is I would ask a doctor's opinion. Hope it works out for you.
