Baby Led Weaning

Would it be too late to change my approach to feeding my 11 month old daughter to baby led weaning. I used to make homemade baby food, but I just haven't done it for many months. She was off baby food at 9 months, but then at 9 1/2 months she got sick and had a sore throat. Since then, she won't eat many chunky food. She even try's to spit out the chunks in the stage 3 baby food. She had to go back on baby food. I heard about baby led weaning a few months ago. I wish I would have known about it before my daughter started solids. I think it's actually the texture of the food that she doesn't like. She will eat chunks of chicken, bread, grilled cheese, puffs, and yogurt melts. I didn't know if I could just start giving her food on her tray and let her eat it if she wants and maybe increase her nursing for what she's not eating. I just don't really know what to do to get her to eat more. Now that she'll eat baby food again, she eats 2 stage 3 jars a day. If I just started giving her chunks for her to pick up and experience the different textures will save a whole lot of money that won't be spent on baby food. I'm not sure if she would go for it either though. I try to give her small pieces of veggies, and she won't even touch them let alone put them in her mouth. Any suggestions?
