Baby throwing up Breastmilk after having a bottle of formula???

My daughter is 4months old. I have to leave town for a week for work, I have done well since I went back to work pumping just enough to get through but suddenly last week my milk supply dropped. Its back now (no idea what happened) but I have now used all my reserves and there is no way i can make it though the week I'm gone. I gave her a bottle of formula and she had no issues at all. Drank it without complaint and then was fine and happy.

3 hours later I gave her a bottle of breastmilk. She had hardly finished it and she threw up every last ounce... of course I was nervous but she still seemed happy and content. Played as if nothing happened. She ate breastmilk again 3 hours later. Threw up everything again. She was still happy and content like nothing happened.

She ate breastmilk again the next morning with no issue. Should I switch her to exclusively formula fed?

No, I wouldn't.

Sound like a simple digestive enzyme problem. As long as you can keep breastfeeding I would.

Also I know I felt the same way when my son would spit up, it really felt like he was spitting every last drop up! Until I pumped once and spilled 5 ounces of breast milk! 5 oz is sooooo much more that I realized. My son was probably only spitting up an ounce, maybe 2!

Good luck! :-)
