Vivian, are you weaning slowly? Or are you weaning cold turkey. To wean, it's best to wean slowly, dropping one feeding a week for a few reasons. One, for the comfort of mom and two, to prevent clogged ducts and/or mastitis.

Here are other ideas:

My LO is almost 15 months old and was still waking up in the night to breastfeed. About a month ago I finally realized (with the help of my pediatrician) that she's not really hungry but is now waking up just out of habit. After being sooooo nervous to stop going in when she cried at night and nursing, after only about 4 or 5 days she slept through the night without having to nurse. If I had known that it would have been that easy I would have done it months ago! I HATED to hear her cry but it only lasted about 5 minutes the first night, 3 the next and finally she'd just whine for a second and go back to sleep. Good luck... stick with it. If you give it, your little one will just know to cry longer and eventually you'll show up....

my son is almost 14 months old and nurses throughout the night. every 2 hours. i tried rocking instead of nursing, but it just gets me back to bed a lot longer. for me, nursing is the quickest way to get back to bed. have you tried rocking/singing/walking? have you tried putting him down with some kind of soft background music?

my son also never took a bottle either. also the above suggestions didn't work for us, but maybe they will for you.
