Im sure someone may have asked this question before but has anyone experienced hair loss while breastfeeding? I am EBF my 3 month son and up until recently my hair has started to fall out...like alot! I already have thin hair so I try to prevent from furthet hair loss. You can start to see small bald patches :(. Is there anything I can take or due to prevent this??

Hey hi, my baby was also EBF and i started loosing a lot of hair around 3rd month. It has nothing to do with breastfeeding dear . During pregnancy, increased levels of estrogen prolong the growing stage. There are fewer hairs in the resting stage and fewer falling out each day, so you have thicker n shiny hair
After you give birth, your estrogen levels take a tumble and a lot more hair follicles enter the resting stage. Soon you'll have more hair coming out in the shower or on the brush. My hair loss continued till my daughter was around 6 months old . What u can do is , use a wide toothed comb , avoid frequent washing of hair , use a very mild shampoo for washing hair. and above all i used warm olive oil mixed with coconut oil once in a week and gently massage it on scalp. hope this helps u dear
take care

It has nothing to do with breastfeeding. It's totally normal for women to lose hair post partum, nursing or not. I'm not sure if there's anything you can do or take though :(
