Breastfeeding Soreness Continues after Unclogged Milk Duct?

I have a four month old, and 1 month ago I had a clogged milk duct. I fixed the problem right away, but I still have soreness in that area. Sometimes the area where the clog was is a little white when dry, but seems absent right after and during feedings. My question is, can a clog only be partially clogged? Since milk comes out of that area, but still acts like it is clogged in all other ways. I am tired of being sore when he eats...and suggestions?

Try a warm compress and gently massaging while nursing. Point his nose at the sore area. This focuses his strongest suction on that duct. If the soreness doesn't go away soon I would call your local hospital to see if you can speak with an LC or contact the closest La Leche League leader (even if there isn't a group near you someone can help you over the phone). Good luck!
