Breastfeeding with a cold?!?!?!

I am BF my 3 month old, and today I woke up feeling a bit sick as the day progressed it has become obvious I have a cold. Does anyone know if it is ok to take extra vit C on top of what is in the pre-natal? Does anyone have any tips on BF when you have a cold in terms of keeping Luke from catching my cold. I have been washing my hands like crazy all day!

It's alright to take some C =) and I wouldn't worry about passing it. He has more than likely already been exposed to the virus, but breastmilk actually protects him from contracting it. Your milk not only has white blood cells, but it also has antibodies in it to keep your baby safe from any virus going around. I've fed mine through colds and a stomach virus, she never caught them. =) I did take the precaution to constantly wash hands as well. I hope you feel better soon!
