Can't Breastfeed for AT LEAST 5 days!

Hi-I'm newer to this group. My little guy is almost 9 weeks old. He is a great baby, great nurser, no issues with feeding at all. Well, yesterday morning I started having some pain "down there," I felt a large lump, and was in a lot of pain by the afternoon. Luckily I was able to get into my doctor. As it turns out, I had a gland that got very infected so my doctor had to lance it. She also put me on antibiotics. That's where the problem comes in.. between the fact that I'm nursing and allergic to penicillin, she couldn't give me something strong enough that I could still breastfeed on and had to put me on a really strong antibiotic for 5 days that I can't breastfeed while taking. She was almost going to hospitalize me, thankfully that didn't happen. This is my 3rd child, and I've nursed all of them, but this is the first time that I have had to be put on a medication that I can't nurse with. I pump every day, so I have at least 400 oz of breast milk frozen. My little guy will take a bottle great for Daddy, but hates taking it from me. I was so upset last night when I couldn't comfort my baby the way he was used to, my hubby was working over time, and my little man just cried and fought me for a long time before he gave in and drank 2 oz. He did better throughout the night, waking up every 3 hrs to eat. My husband works 24 hr shifts and works today, so he won't be off of work until 7 am tomorrow morning. Between my 3 kids (3 yrs old, 22 months, and 9 weeks), how uncomfortable I am, and how last night went, I am dreading today. Any helpful tips or suggestions?

Well you said it's only for five days so that's encouraging...you posted this three days ago so I'm guessing you're getting thru this the best way you can...I'm sorry you're having such a rough time though. The only thing you can do is just keep offering the bottle of thawed breast milk to your son. He can't starve himself. When he gets hungry enough, he'll take it. And do keep pumping so that you can keep your supply up. You are one busy mama with three little ones who are so young...I have a 5 yr. old, a 2 yr. old, and a 6 month old so I can sympathize somewhat. It's hard; it's very hard some days just getting thru the day. Do you have any friends or family around that could perhaps come over and help? Someone who can give him a bottle while you pump, so he's not upset that he can't nurse? If I lived closer I'd help! :) Hope it all gets better soon.
