Exclusive breastfeeding (by itself) is 98-99.5% effective in preventing pregnancy as long as all of the following conditions are met:

Your baby is less than six months old
Your menstrual periods have not yet returned
Baby is breastfeeding on cue (both day & night), and gets nothing but breastmilk or only token amounts of other foods.

You mentioned that your baby has started sleeping through the nights... that increases your chances of getting pregnant. If you read through the info on the KellyMom site, you'll get more info on this than you probably want. :)

Also.. keep in mind, it is cold and flu season. It's possible you've picked up a bug and you're fighting it off, but it's making you feel a little bit sick still.

And if you are sick, keep breastfeeding your baby, it will help to keep your LO healthy.

Actually theyre not that low you could still ovulate while breastfeeding which will cause you to have a period after. You could have been ovulating and may have gotten pregnant. You should take a test. Because i exclusively breastfed for two months my son is three months now and i had my period this month as well. So even though you breastfeed you still gotta be careful.
