I was hoping breast feeding exclusively would prevent my period. Im four months pp. i went back to work 3 weeks ago and just got my period today. If i go back to nursing around the clock can I prevent future periods? Is there anyway to prevent getting my period again? Im feeling really emotional and depressed- like I have pp depression again. I was so level and good without it, I really don't want it. Any advice?

I was on the depo shot after I had my girls and never had a period... but it really messed up my system and I 100% blame it for me having two miscarriages before I finally became pregnant w/ my son.

I have a friend who was on the depo shot for a while... and she bled constantly the entire time on it.

I would never recommend that shot to anyone.

Has anyone ever taken the birth control
Or shot that makes it so you don't get your period? How has it worked?

I agree, stopping your menstrual cycle is only a very short term fix. I did not get my period for a year pp but I had terrible ppd anyway.

Some women don't get their periods while breastfeeding... some do.

I know a woman who was exclusively breastfeeding twins and she got her period back at 6 weeks... and every month after that. I got mine back at 2.5 months w/ my son (sometimes nursing as frequently as 3 times in the same hour). It happens.

Perhaps seek some counseling for the depression. ♥
