donating breastmilk?

Is it okay for me to donate my breast milk to my sister's infant? She can't produce enough milk for her little one... She does'nt want to put her baby on formula as it does not have the same amount of nutrients. How many of you moms have donated your breastmilk?

It's perfectly fine for you to donate your milk to you sisters infant. Assuming of course that you are healthy and you would give your milk to your own baby. Before formula was created a wet nurse would have to be found if the mother couldn't produce enough milk for her baby. It's much healthier for the baby to be receiving human milk rather than formula. I've not done this, but I would donate my milk to a close friend or especially family member if it was needed, and if I wasn't making enough, I'd prefer my baby to get human milk rather than formula to fill in the gaps.
