Does anyone here EBF and put their little one in a nursery? I don't go every Sunday morning, but I miss being able to go when I can because my son is EBF. I can't take him into the service because he doesn't like to be held for very long and wants to get down and play. But I've never put him in the nursery before either. Church services usually last 2-2.5 hours and even though he's almost 8 months old, he still eats every 2 hours during the day.

How old is your baby? I have 4 kids and have gone to 3 hr church throughout each baby stage. If you want to put him in the nursery, can you go halfway through to nurse? Another option is to bring some quiet toys he can play with right beside you to keep him occupied in case you are not ready to send him to a nursery. Sometimes I can put my little one on the floor between my feet with some little toys. As they get older it is more difficult to keep them in one place. That's when I start bringing cherrios, but it sounds like your baby is still young. Our church has a mother's room where women can nurse during the meeting and then come back in when finished. Does your church have a room like that or an empty room so you could slip out for a few minutes and then come back in? Also, I don't know how people are in your congregation, but I have seen women nurse under a blanket in the meeting. They are usually very discreet about it. If you sat in a back corner, nobody may even notice. That's if you are comfortable with it. Hopefully that gives you a few options. It can be very difficult to get spirituality with a little one, but I think its worthwhile and sets a great example for your little one even if he's too little to understand right now. It will help him get used to it, so it won't be foreign to him later in life.
