I want to know if anything like this has happened to anyone else? My daughter is 10 months old and has been EBF since day one. I'm a SAHM so I'm particularly used to just kind of whipping it out when needed all day. The other day she was extra fussy due to teething so I gave her some teething tablets and nursed her for comfort reasons. That was when the doorbell rang. Well, I plop her on the floor to play, hop up to answer the door and there is the UPS guy with some stuff I ordered. It wasn't until I opened the second door and got hit with 14 below temps that I realized that my nursing bra was still down and my shirt was still up...totally flashing the mail guy! I have caught myself several times since she was born walking from one room to another beore realizing I was stille exposed...anyone else have embarassing breastfeeding moments???

over the years i have had the odd embarressing moment. or ten.

Couple of them come to mind aftr reading the posts. I am a mum of three boys who are now 24 19 15.

When my youngest was styill breast feeding on the odd occasions, i had given him a comfort feed after him being upset. i had sat in my bedroom with strappy sun top down whilst givign him comfort. After he calmed down he fell asleep on the bed, so i reattached up my straps and went downstairs to get some housework done. My eldest son walks in with two of his friends, and i stand there talking away to them, tho i did not notice their eyes wide open, well didnt make the connection. My top was thin so my thought was they could see my nipple shape thru the top. Never was one to cover up at home if tops showed nipple erections. Then one of the boys mums comes in, as she had dropped them back home, and said SARAH!!! Your boobs and pointed. My top had fallen down and my boobs were totally exposed and some leakage. Still get teased about it at times now by both my son and his mates mum. At the time she was a bit shocked then when the boys left the kitchen, we both burst out laughing.

When I was still breastfeeding my older son we went to visit family. I have to be covered when nursing and while I was feeding my mother in law decided to show one of her friends her grandson. She knew that he was eating and still didn't hesitate to remove the blanket and show my son who at that moment decided to look about. It wouldn't have been quite as embarrassing if we hadn't been in the middle of a busy store and everybody nearby had stopped to look at the baby.

Had Christmas dinner with my family (most who support formula), and my LO was hungry right as dinner started. So I left the table, popped her in my moby, attached her, and went back and sat down. We bowed our heads in prayer and all you could hear was.. Gulp, gulp, gulp. She swallows LOUDLY.

LOL My husband constantly jokes that this will happen to me one day since I regularly forget to put my boob away after feeding. I would be mortified. ;)

I'm so sorry, but I can't help but laugh!! I do the same thing at home, though, since my 3 month old eats constantly. I haven't flashed anyone yet (that I know of...) So far my only moment was when I had to answer the door for the FedEx guy in a sports bra with my baby clinging to me. He told me I didn't need to bother signing and ran off pretty quickly. lol

I was very comfortable breastfeeding anywhere I needed to as long as my son and I could get in a position where we comfortable sitting. I know of a few times that I have flashed people because my son was nosey since the day he was born and was constantly doing the pull away and turn move. One time I know that I flashed my dad, and although nothing was said I was quite embarrassed inside cause he is the type of dad that doesn't mind that stuff but just keep it to yourself, haha!

i'm very comfortable nursing in public with no cover but i've never gone around naked but it may happen anytime cuz my son would just pull done my dress or top and exposed my breast if i'm not wearing a bra which I sometimes don't when i'm at home.

When my eldest was a newborn I lived with my parents and 13yr old brother for a few weeks. One day as I was sitting on the couch feeding, some of my brothers friends dropped over to see him. He decided to play silly buggers and hide and not answer the door. This got the dogs all excited and they were jumping around and barking their heads off and my daughter was getting upset about all the noise, so I went and answered the door. My shirt was open and one breast completely exposed with my daughter still attached. His friends looked a little bit shocked at first but got over it pretty quick, my brother whisked them off to his room before I could embarrass him any more lol

When my brother was little mum would occasionally put him in the pram after a feed and walk down the shops, it was generally only on the way home that she would realise that she hadn't done up her nursing bra and her shirt front was soaking wet and see through. Maybe my family is just shameless? :)

Not with strangers, but I have a 6 yr old and 9 yr old, and have flashed them a bit. My boobies have now become the household joke. I have to be extra careful when my 9yr old son's friends are over. I know that 1 in particular has been flashed by accident. the life of a mother . . .

At least I'm not the only person! I too am completely comfortable nursing in public with no cover...but I don't usually walk around half naked!!! Hopefully I have learned my lesson and will cover myself properly when done breastfeeding instead of just hopping up to answer the door or whatever!!!

Heh, I think I totally did that in front of my husband's grandmother just before Xmas! Fortunately, she's nearly blind, but she had been giving me a funny look so I think she might have noticed.

I may have also flashed my father-in-law in the same way. *lol*

Anyone who comes round to my place just has to roll with it, really! *l*

I bet that really made his day! Hehe. I'm sorry, maybe I shouldn't laugh. I have no problem BFing in public without a cover or anything, but if that had happened to me I no doubt would be mortified. It is a good story though. Should be in one of those books, you know...the ones filled with endearing and funny short stories by new moms. I've never had anything like that happen to me. The closest I've come (and it's nowhere near) to that is falling asleep while nursing in bed at night and waking up in the morning to find one of my boobs is still hanging out of my sleep bra.

You probably made his day!!

I was nursing my daughter at the local coffee shop when she was about 8 months. It was during that "looky-loo" stage they go through. She popped off and rolled away leaving me exposed just a a group of highschool boys walked by. They got quite the show.
