frequent clogged milk ducts help!

i have bf all 4 of my children am currently nursing my 6 month old i have never had a clogged duct before i have delt with other issues like oversupply and thrush my youngest and i had a rough start our first month with thrush but no other problems since then recently i had a clogged duct and found out just how painful they are i was able to get it to go away and then about 2 weeks later it happened again about a week later it was gone then again about a week and a half after that i now have it again i am not skipping feeds and nothing is different is it usual for this to happen or should i go see teh dr again and what can i do to get this to go away and stay away i am nursing frequently doing hot showers massage ect i just don't understand why i am being plagued with this it hurts so bad i can't sleep well at night and its always in the same spot too i appreciate your thoughts thanks

There is a chance that is could be your bra or maybe even the way you sleep or feed that is causing it. A lack of proper drainage during feedings due to the way the baby tends to eat on that breast sometimes causes it. Try massage just before and even during feedings to make sure that duct drains properly. Also try different nursing positions to encourage drainage in that area of the breast

If your bra doesn't fit properly it can cause a blockage but since I am not sure where your bloackage is positioned I can't really speculate any further.

i keep getting them on my right side below my armpit area and only in that same place each time it always takes 3 days to get it unplugged again i was wondering if maybe it had anything to do with the thrush i had when my son was first born we had about 2 months of treatment for it before it went away i have a good non wired nursing bra and we do the massage anyway because i have an oversupply/ fast letdown so i try to express some out before feeding other wise he pulls back and chokes on it my dr didn't even answer my question told me to talk to the lady on materninty that helps with breastfeeding and she had no other answeres for me either it sucks i just don't want to get an infection
