Hi! My LO only had breast milk till he turned 6 months. Now he's 7.5 months and on solids and BM. I got my period the day he turned 5 months and had a period the month after that. Now it's been 40 days with out getting my period. I've done several pregnancy tests but they all come out negative... any chance that my period is gone again?? The strange thing is that my son hasn't increased his milk intake.

I would actually be thrilled to have another baby, but I want to know if I should keep trying with the pregnancy tests or wait another month or so. I don't have any symptoms that are associated exclusively to pregnancy (all I feel are sensitive breasts and cramps, I also had this same symptoms when I was expecting my son...but besides that, I never had much symptoms... my pregnancy was quite calm. But I know this symptoms could mean ANYTHING)... sooooo I'm really clueless... any ideas? THANKS!

I breast fed my son exclusively and when he was 2 months old I got some spotting then at 3 months it was my full period, and i have had a normal cycle from that time on... he didnt' want food till 9 months ... it is possible to get pregnant while breastfeeding... I know of some people who ended up pregnant at their 6 week checkup.....

Periods while breastfeeding will probably be irregular for some time. I got my first when my daughter was 11 months. It was 41 days until the next one then the next few after that were 31-36 days. My last one was 48 days. They're hard to predict. I chart my cycles by taking my basal body temperature and watching for signs of ovulation. This makes me feel like I know a little about what my body is doing. Just wait it out and if it doesn't come back you could always call your doctor to check.

Thanks for this post, I too have had a similar experience so I'm glad I'm not alone :). Also looking forward to getting pregnant again, but as you say, the only way to tell is to keep taking tests!
Thanks again

Ladies!! Thanks for your replies!! I guess I'll have to be careful until I finally get some kind of answer (my period finally decides to appear or the home pregnancy tests come out positive :)
