My son is 6 months and breastfed.

Any advice on 1. the biting and/or 2. back arching. Back arching is pretty much all the time.

Please help!

When baby starts to bite, remove the nipple, but remember to BREAK THE SUCTION by inserting your little finger in the corner of his mouth.

hmm i have read that an baby who is arching the back while feeding can be a sign of reflux. but come to think of it. Logan went through a similar phase. If you do not suspect reflux/heart burn, try a different nursing position. He could also just be testing out his muscles being more aware of them now and able to coordinate them at will.

if you do suspect reflux try nursing him with his head higher than his tummy, gravity will help keep milk and acids in the tummy instead of creeping up the digestive track

1. BITING= All you can do is say no to your baby and take him of as nicely as possible to make him know that it is wrong. just don't scare them when you say no because you don't want to scare them away from the breast.

2. BACK= We don't look after our self enuff but a massage does wonders for us, i remembered from just picking my son up a lot my shoulders use to ache that was when he was 2 -3. the other is you need to position yourself with pillows and try to sit up straight if you can because they do get heavy after a while but good luck, i know how you feel it's easy for me now mine is only 6 week's old.
