Just wondering if anyone knows if it's ok if I give my 8 month old homo/whole 3.5% milk in a sippy cup??? I'm breastfeeding, but I want him to get used to having milk in a sippy for when I (plan to) wean at 12 months. I've just started giving it to him the past 2 days. He only drink maybe 1/2 an ounce the whole day.

He can't digest it yet. Like was said. I also used to give them water in their sippy cups until they were a year and then I gave them the whole milk once they turned a year. It can take a little time before they are really using the sippy cup well.

No it's not safe to give an 8 month old whole milk. Your baby is not able to digest it and you could be causing long term stomach problems. You would be better off expressing breastmilk and offering that or offering water if you want him to get used to a sippy.
