I can imagine that's really frustrating!!

I read someplace that breastfeeding can kick on the bodies "starvation mode." The basic premise, as I recall, was that your body wants to nourish your baby at all costs. (That's why you take your prenatal- baby won't be vitamin deficient- you will, because your body sends the nutrients to what it feels is the most important thing.) So this article suggested that if you were having issues with your weight while breastfeeding, you should actual up your calories. Your body is concerned about a food shortage and is doing it's best to hold on to the "extra" for when the shortage comes. The idea would be to snack almost all the time- healthy snacks all the time, but not low fat or low calorie. I would think things like humas, trail mix, lean meats. cheese....

Like I said- I can't remember now where it read it. It may have been an actual article or it might have been some idiot's blog post. But it might be worth a little more research...
