Kylie - I've found setting limits during the day very different than trying to set limits during the night. With my 21 month old I no longer nurse her when we're out. I keep lots of snacks with me, and a sippy cup with water at ALL times. There are times when she is getting close to nap time that she starts crying for milkies, but I tell her we can have milkies later.. right now she can have graham crackers and water. It usually works. Though I do keep treats like a sucker in my bag for times when nothing else works. Works for non nursing issues too. :)

If your sister would nurse her 2 year old just before she got dressed, and then offered snacks often, it may help keep her daughter from demanding booby. But the stress of the day might make it so that even with snacks she wants the booby.

Hi, i feel you with that problem and i don't have the child still nursing lol My sister has a little girl who is now a few months past the 2 year age... she hasn't had a decent night sleep since she gave birth i would say.. also with Jasmine waking most hours on the hour... problem now is how to get her off, she doesn't need the nutrition, we know it is purely a comfort thing for her but as she is flowergirl in my daughters wedding next month umm yes this could be a problem, for my sister as well, she can't exactly lift her dress up over her head at the garden ceremony just because my niece is crying "but i neeeeeed booby" i neeeed it lol ... any suggestions???

Congrats on going this long! I have a 21 month old that I am still nursing. She also wakes at night many nights, and when she's not feeling good, she wakes very frequently at night. Is your LO teething? Has there been a change in her schedule recently? A new milestone being worked on or met? Has she been ill? Any and all of these things can disrupt a LO's sleep, and a baby who was previously sleeping better may begin to wake more frequently.
