It is hard because she uses me as a pacifier. she is two months.I have a 3 yr old also to run around around and do things for so its hard to always have her on my nipple. and honestly its irritating to me to have her use me as one and its hurts. I have tried all kinds of pacifiers, the mam, avent, soothie, gumdrop, playtex latex one that's most like mom's nipple but she wont take any. I am a stay at home mom and my fiance works during the day so it difficult to have the baby always attached to my nipple while running after the oldest.

I know, it's hard. Neither of my girls would take a pacifier either.

First thing to remember. Pacifiers were invented to REPLACE the breast. you baby isn't using you as a pacifier, the pacifier is being used to replace YOU.

Do you have a sling or other type of carrier you use with her around house? Something like a Maya Wrap ring sling, or a Moby Wrap. They are so so so helpful when you have a baby AND an older child. They're helpful anyway, but if you NEED to be able to chase after or play with an older child, your baby can come right along with you and you'll both be more comfortable. Also, babies who are "worn" (carried in a sling or other carrier), cry less, sleep better, and have more quiet awake alert times than babies who are not worn. I didn't have a good one with my first baby, but with my 2nd it became a necessity. I invested in both a Maya Wrap, and an Ergo carrier. The Chico carrier and the other sling I'd had were not comfortable for me to use. But with these two, I was good to go, and my 2nd was attached to me just about everywhere. Worked so well for me. You may find if you're carrying your baby around more that she won't need to comfort nurse quite as much.

Try a real pacifier, or use a baby carrier so she can suck on the go. It doesn't last forever...but you know that

I totally sympathize with you! My baby is 6 weeks and does the same thing, especially in the evening when she's more fussy. I've started to help put her hands in her mouth and encourage he to uck on them instead. She will sometime for a minute or two and then gets mad. I've also tried a variety of pacis and haven't had much luck. The only one she's ever taken or more than a minute is a latex it the big nipple. In the evening I let her use me more as a paci because she's especially fussy then. I just try to work with her more during the day when she's happy--but no real success yet either. You're not alone!
