I am still breastfeeding my 21 month old and still no period! I had my gynae check me out, and all is fine...it's just from the breastfeeding. So enjoy and don't worry :)

I am currently breastfeeding my 2 year old daughter and 5 month old son. My 2 year old breastfed throughout my whole pregnancy. I haven't had a period since Feb 2007. And yes, our son was a HUGE surprise!!!!!!!!! :)

well it's different for every woman but for me my son is now 13mths and i'm still free from my dreaded monthly visitor! I breastfeed. I was so worried at first...thinkin I might be prego's again I kept taking tests like crazy but then my nurse told me its perfectly normal for some woman who breastfeed not to have a period throughout the time you breastfeed and some get it back within a few months

I've been exclusively breastfeding for 4 months and I got mine last month - it really sucked because I noticed a decrease in my milk supply when I got it!

It depends if you breastfed or not. In case you do it possible that you won't get your period till you stop breastfed also it possible that you may get it within 2 or 3 months of breastfed. If you don't breast feed your baby you should get your period after 8 weeks even as small drops any way make sure you use protection within both ways or you won't get you period for another 9 months.

My son is now 10 months and still breastfeeding. I got my first period right before Thanksgiving, so he was 8 months old. But my dr changed my birth control because I needed something stronger once he started eating more table food and nursing less. My periods are short and light, but I sure enjoyed the break from them!!! :)

He's almost 11 months and no period. Yipee! Like the others say - it's totally individual. He started slowly on solids at 5.5 months.

18 months! We didn't start solids until 9 months- he just wasn't interested in solids. And he's still nursing at 3 yrs.

I didn't get mine back until I stopped breast feeding my first entirely at 12 months. My second is now 6 months, breastfed and still nothing. I'm not complaining!

4.5 months and I breastfeed (my daughter is 14months), at first I only spotted a couple of days every other week for about 2 months then I skipped a month, then it was about 40 days, then it began to be in the 30-31 day range and now is back to 28-29 day cycle.

I've been breast feeding my daughter for 9months now and I havn't had a period. I don't miss my period at all. I have hormonal issues so it could be why my period hasn't returned but from what i've read here it seems it's got more to do with breast feeding.

My son is 4 months and besides the post partum bleeding, Nothing yet. It really is different for everyone. Some people are very adamant that if you are bfing exclusively is will not come back until you start to do less. But I have a friend with a 21 month old who was EBF til a year, who is now close to weaned and she still hasn't got anything. And another friend who also EBF and her just started up like normal the very next month after each of her kids were born, and she bf up to a year.
So it really depends on how sensitive your own body is to everything as well.

Nine months with my first. My second is 4 1/2 months old and is exclusively breastfed and I haven't had it yet. I got pregnant with my second after my first post partum period, so in 2 1/2 years, I have only had 1 period. It's great! :)

Hello Belinda I was just wondering were you taking a birth control pill while bf-ing your daughter before you got pregnant with your 5 month old son? Cause i'm also bf-ing my 14 month old daughter and I haven't had my period back since I got pregnant with her. Oh, i bled for 2 weeks after I gave birth but my Ob-gyne said it wasn't really considered as a regular period.

I've breastfed all of my babies for 3+ years, and here's how long it took for my period to return:

First: Nursing full time, period after 9 months.
Second: Nursing her full time and #1 3-4 times a day, period after 11 months
Third: Nursing her full time and #2, 2-3 times a day, period after 13 months

I do NOT miss my period while breastfeeding!

I breastfed all 4 of my babies for a minimum of 24 months, and I had 4 c-sections (*that I didn't want) but after the 1st 6 weeks of bleeding finally stopped after their births, I began periods about 3-5 months after giving birth.

Baby 1, breastfed for 9 months and period back after 10 months

Baby 2 fed for 18months period back after 7 months

Baby 3 fed for 21 months period back after 6 months

Baby 4 is 18 months and still feeding period back after 13 months...so no real pattern really, evenone is different some friends got periods back after only 6 weeks poor things!

I was doing good until yesterday, had my son in June of last year. According to my doctor it depends on you. There are many different factors and no scientific way to figure it out.

With my first which I breast feed for 7 1/2months it didn't return till she was 18months...which was nice...with the second one I started having a period a month after I stopped nursing her...which she nursed for 6months...I was hoping that I wouldn't get it back for a couple of months..oh well I was glad although that I didn't have it while nursing. Hope this helps.

With my first child, I got my period after 13 months, (nursed until 19 months) and With my second, it took - are you sitting down? - from conception to return of period post-partum, I waited 33 months for a period!! so 24 months post partum. crazy. I am NOT compaining!! (I was and still am nursing by the way)

With my daughter who is now 14 months old I breastfed her around the clock and never saw a period. Don't be fooled by people who tell you this is an adequate form of birth control if you do it right. You should have had a period by atleast 6 months. Check a pregnancy test if it has been longer. I did not question not having a period until someone told me I was pregnant AGAIN! I found out I was expecting when my daughter was about 5 months old. Talk a bout a suprise!

7 months, but I breastfed for my son's first year. Even after it started it was extremely random. I would go sometimes two weeks between periods to two months sometimes.

8 months, with exclusive breastfeeding until 5.5 months, then solids slowly introduced. No formula or juice supplementation. I was hoping it would not come back until the baby was weaned, but 8 months off was nice.
