Hi I have breast fed my baby now for nine weeks and plan to continue for a number of months. I have tried to get her to take expressed milk in a bottle this week but she just keeps gagging and wont suck it at all. I never had this trouble with my first 2 girls although they had a bottle a day for they were 4 weeks. Has anyone any tips or suggestions on how to get her on the occasional bottle??

I wish I could help. My 7 month old still won't take a bottle either. I've tried different types of bottles, and sippy cups, I've tried giving them, and have tried having someone else give the bottle while I'm not there. No luck for us, she just doesnt want a bottle. She'll play with it and even suck some milk out but then promptly spits it back out. I had hoped that with the introduction of solids she'd be willing to drink from a cup or sippy, but not yet.

My older daughter took the occasional bottle just fine, but this one just doesn't want her milk that way. I'm going to keep my eye on this thread in case there are any new suggestions for me to try too.
