So after several tries and 5 losses I had my wonderful son. I have had an amazing experience and I have loved every second of motherhood thus far, especially the bond that he and I have that is even more pronounced by the fact that I breastfed from day 1. For the passed 12 months I have breastfed my son with no problems. Recently I found out that he has a lot of food allergies (including cows milk) so I am interested in continuing to give him breast milk but he is beginning to use me as a pacifier and it is becoming painful. He only nurses about 4-5 times a day (am, am nap, noon nap, and bedtime) but he will not go to sleep without nursing. He is a bit stubborn like I am, when I say he will not go to sleep I mean down right refuses to go to sleep without nursing! And to top it all off he has become a lazy latcher. I have never had any nipple issues due to improper latching until now. He has never used a paci or a bottle. He refused them both from the beginning. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME

my daughter is the same way;i bouqht a nuk bottle the nipple is shapped the same way as a breast nipple best thing to do is pump a bottle let him latch on to ur breast like u wopuld normally do and when he starts closinq his eyes take him off and repolace your nipple with the bottle. it helps for me let me know how that works out.

I think we are in similar boats here. We have a 15 month old son and we discovered his cows milk intolerance just before 13 months (we started giving it to him after his birthday) and just today he went to an allergist because something still wasnt right. he also has a wheat intolerance it turns out. My sons latch has gotten sloppy despite my best efforts to correct it and my nipples hurt more now then when he was a newborn (and we had yeast infection then so that's saying something!) Hale will go to bed without nursing but not if its me putting him to bed or if he knows I am around. daddy, grandma, auntie, has to put him down. I guess I don't know how to help but I know what you're going through sort of.
