I'm having a miscarriage...should I go to the ER?

I've been cramping for a few days but nothing major. Then yesterday I started spotting which I thought was fine because it happened with my first. As the day went on, my cramping got worse (but not extremely painful) and my bleeding got heavier, like a period. I started having some small blood clots and this morning I'm still bleeding and more clots. My cramping went away last night but started back up a couple hours ago and now it's starting to get painful. I called my doctor today and she had me come in for blood work but I won't know until tomorrow. My question is should I go to the ER? I'm pretty sure I'm losing our baby and I know there's nothing they can do about it. I have a one year old and don't want to put him through all that waiting. I talked to a family friend that has had a miscarriage and she said he passed out from it. I'm scared that when my husband goes to work something could happen. What do you ladies think? I'm opting to have this happen naturally, mostly because I'm still BFing my son and don't know if the meds they'd give me would affect him. TIA...

Ok, so I did go in only because the pain gto worse and it was only on my left side. I went in and my blood pressure was a little high for comfort and I was running a fever. They did blood work and an ultrasound. Our little baby has passed and I have already released pretty much everything... :(

I'm so sorry I will be praying for you! That can be so devastating. After my miscarriage I went on to have 2 more healthy pregnancies but I still think of that darling baby I lost.

I think you are fine to stay at home but try to rest! I had a miscarriage and handled it fine at home. I did go for an appointment to verify the miscarriage but did not rush in to the ER. You are right, there is nothing they can do about it. I think you will be more comfortable at home. I am so sorry for your loss. It is really tough to go through!

Wow, that's a really tough one, and I'm really sorry for what you are going through.

I would go to the ER (keep in mind it can be expensive) and just don't opt for any meds!

If you need anyone to talk to, I'm here! :-)
