Yes it's ok, my daughter nursed regularly till about 22 months now at 27 months she nurses once a day or every other day. She's self weaning but still occassionally asks and as long as we aren't out I usually let her.

It's totally ok to still be breastfeeding at 13 months. IMO... 12 months is an absolute MINIMUM of weaning age. WHO recommends til 2 years and beyond. I used to be against breastfeeding past 12-18 months about a decade ago, but didn't wean my youngest til over 3. My best friend who still IS against breastfeeding for a 'long' time didn't wean her youngest til about 17 months.

Bottom line... if you and your son are still ok with nursing then it is still ok. ♥

You dont have to wean if you dont want too. It is recommended by WHO (world health organization) to breastfeed for 2 years and then beyond if mutually desired by mom and child. I breastfed my daughter until 17 months. I did choose to limit her once we reached a year to at wake-up, before nap and before bed. Then i also took away the 2 earlier feeds to due to outside issues. I am breastfeeding my almost 7 month old now and I will continue up to 2 years if he wants but again I will place limits after a year. That is just for me though. You should do what feels right for you and your child.
