I was told in the hospital not to use pacifiers. I read afterwards that this is because they can decrease your milk supply because the baby sucks them instead of the breast. then I heard that is only in the first week or so when they wouldn't no the difference. My baby is almost 12 weeks now, is it safe to use one because she is always sucking her hand an im afraid shel start suckin her thumb? I no this is just for comfort not hunger because when i offer her the breast she doesn't take she just wants to suck her hand she even does it after shes fed, could be teething? does anyone have any opinions about this, or are using pacifiers while breastfeeding?

It in theory can for the reasons you listed. Before your milk is established, it's important for sucking to be at the breast. But 12 weeks should be fine because your supply is probably already established.
