Okay so my name is Courtney and I just noticed I perfectly red rings around my nipples with a couple red bumps around too. I noticed it shortly after intercourse. They don't hurt or itch. No burning either. But lately I have had some digestive problems. I also recently started on a new birth control. I'm scared because I don't know what this means. Someone please help me :(!! Oh and ps. I don't have a baby. I'm not a mom. I just want advice from a mother?

Courtney - I'm not sure what to tell you either. But if it's not hurting or itching, i'd go ahead and give it a few days. If it starts hurting or itching, go get it checked out. You may need a prescription ointment or something. Digesting issues and a new birth control could have upset the balance of yeast in your system, and could lead to a yeast infection: but since you're not a breastfeeding Mom, I don't think that's the most likely place it would show up first.

I had/have dry itchy nipples that spread to breasts. Got it in November...my ob thought it was thrush at first. Then I went to the derm when the Nystatin didn't work...if it is thrush you should notice a difference pretty much right away...The derm told me the treatment was ointment that I couldn't take while nursing - it was very dry skin. The ped felt the same...I didn't take the ointment but used Lansinoh instead. Used it very regulary and eventually it started to get better. Now I just have a few spots that come and go. But have stopped using the Lansinoh. Itchiness isn't too bad any more.
