i have breast fed all 4 of my children my first for exactly 1 yr my daughter 6 months before she weaned herself my 3rd for almost 2 yrs and am currently bf my 7 month old i have always had an oversupply of milk so much so that it actually made things a bit hard for the baby to feed they would choke and gag whe i let down i am not sure what to do my son is trying to nurse every 15 min or 1/2 hr anymore and its frustrating this has been going on for 2 weeks now he is now waking in the middle of the night to feed sometimes 3 times i am driking lots of water and have started to drink the mothers milk tea i even pump to help stimulate more production what else can i do this is so frustrating for both him and me he really dosn't even like eating babyfood and won't dream of touching a bottle even if its breast milk
(the whole 2 ounces max i can manage to pump after hes been off the breast for 4 hrs first thing in the am) does anyone have anything else i can do to help boost my supply and also was wondering if the mini pill could have anything to do with this i usually have gone off it by this point i hate taking them anyway thanks for the help

Maybe it's not supply if you can still pump 2 oz total it is a lot especially at yours son's age. My son is 14 months and if he could he would nurse all the time for comfort. and he might be waking for other reasons at night like developmental milestones that you can't really time...growth spurts and all that. Don't streess give him some solids your supply is fine - it's my opinion

From what you've posted, this doesn't indicate a supply problem. It sounds like a growth spurt. How are diapers?? Diaper count will indicate a supply problem..

Even IF your supply is low, the best thing to do is to nurse more often.

Your pump output is actually good! Average output is 1/2 to 2 oz. But keep in mind that this does NOT mean anything about supply.

I would suggest dropping medication esp things like the mini pill as it can effect and just see. It sounds like you are doing everything right and so there must be another reason. hope it gets better for you XX
